Maine’s Annual Conference on Problem Gambling Awareness

Maine’s Annual Conference on Problem Gambling is being held on March 11, 2015 during National Problem Gambling Awareness Month. The conference focuses on problem gambling’s impact on young people and families and is sponsored by the Maine Office of Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services.

The conference takes place at Maple Hill Conference Center, 11 Inn Road,  in  Hallowell, Maine from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.  The registration deadline is March 6, 2015 or when the workshop reaches capacity. The  registration fee is  $50.00. Continuing Education Credits  for 6 Contact Hours.

Dr. Greggus Yahr and Joe Turbessi  are the keynote speakers. Dr. Greggus Yahr will provide a presentation about compulsive addiction such as gambling and include information on treatment implications, impact on affected others, and prevention.  Joe Turbessi will discuss his own experience with gambling and provide information about youth gambling across the United States.
