CA$H Maine offers free tax preparation to qualified individuals and families during the tax season, as well as information about free and low-cost money saving resources, including funding higher education for you or your children.
Option 1: File for free in person with an IRS-certified volunteer tax preparer. To find a free tax preparation event near you, dial 2-1-1. A trained Call Specialist will provide contact information. You can also find tax preparation sites by searching in the 2-1-1 Maine Resource Directory on the 2-1-1 Maine homepage. To qualify, 2014 household income should be less than $53,000. All consumers should call the tax site to find out about what documents are needed for tax preparation. ADA and interpreter accommodations are available upon request.
