Volunteer in the Call Center
Description: Calling for help can often be the hardest part of getting it. Be that voice on the phone that helps callers with the information they need. 2-1-1 Maine, a state-wide information and referral line, is looking for a team of volunteers to help call specialists with special projects and when call volume is expected to be high (i.e. in times of emergency, during heating season and for special projects). Volunteer to be the first person people call when they need help. Volunteers will also assist with the programs’ follow-up, quality assurance process on a monthly basis.
Requirements: Volunteers should have ability to multi-task and utilize the computer while processing calls. Computer and good phone skills are necessary. Volunteers will need to have a background check and interview. Orientation and training are provided.

Volunteer in the Resource Department
Description: The 2-1-1 Maine Resource Department seeks a volunteer to assist with the update of the Resource Directory. Volunteer duties will include contacting agencies/organizations listed in the directory by phone and/or email. Duties may expand with experience.
Requirements: Excellent phone and communications skills, ability to navigate the Internet, attention to detail and knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook are required. Monday through Thursday daytime hours.
